For starters my name is Ceira Stewart and I'm from Alexandria, VA. I've been living in this part of VA all of my life. What makes me who I am today would be from the many experiences I have experienced(personally, educationally and my socially wise). I believe when you go through different events through life, whether they are good or bad you can grow and learn from them. My career goal is to become a Pediatric/Neonatal Nurse but, in my specific field I will be working with kids. So taking these educational classes has given me the knowledge to know about children development.
I have so many experiences I would love to share with the community educational and personally wise. What I understand about the world is if you really want something you'll most likely have to work hard for it. Life is a story where we have good and bad memories, we go through different trials & errors and lastly we have a lifetime of experiences. Nobody's story is the same(reason I chose the stack of books)What I can teach my classmates would be the concept of listening to understanding and not just listening to hear. It's important to listen thoroughly because a person could be teaching you something new or giving you advice that could last a lifetime. What I can teach my students is that it's important to be open to learning new things and appreciate when someone is trying to be there or help you.
To become an effective teacher I need to learn to be gaining more knowledge of different cultures. How I will challenge myself to grow as a person would be to take the time to gain more information on different values/concepts each culture has to offer. Another way I could challenge myself is learning different languages.
The teacher I will become
Even though my career goal isn't to become a teacher, if I had to become one, my goal would be to give my students a long-lasting and memorable experience. When I say this I'm saying, giving my students the knowledge that they'll be able to remember years from now. I want my students to remember the way I taught them and how I made our environment a safe haven where students can be comfortable. Students should be able to think back to the happy times they had being in the classroom. As a teacher, my goal would be also for my students to feel as though they can come to me about anything whether they be something dealing with school or a personal question. A teacher should be that person that students can trust or be comfortable with if they have no one else to come to.
