Who Am I?
Hello everyone! I'm Crystal Greene! I'm a new student at ODU. After I graduated high school in 2016 I went to TCC to get my general courses done before transferring to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. During my senior year of High School I took the Virginia Teachers For Tomorrow class, where I interned with a 5th grade class. That experience confirmed my passion for teaching!
Fun Facts About Crystal:
I've lived in Virginia Beach, VA my whole life.
I've been a huge Taylor Swift fan since i was 8 years old.
I have the two cutest nephews ever.
I love the beach and the mountains.
I enjoy watching crime documentaries; however, I can't stand the sight of blood.
My favorite flower is sunflowers.
I'm an Enneagram six.
I've traveled to Scotland, China, and Thailand.
My favorite foods are pasta and sushi.
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family.
What I Know:
I'm passionate about making a difference.
You have to have a lot of patience to be a teacher,
It's important to be a good example for your students.
Always be kind, be encouraging, and show empathy towards your students, teachers, and parents.
It's important to incorporate different learning styles into lessons to benefit each student.
The seven learning styles are: visual, auditory, verbal, kinesthetic, logical, interpersonal, and intrapersonal.
It's important to create a safe space for kids to learn and express themselves.
What I Have To Learn:
Best ways to incorporate technology within lessons.
Better time management skills.
Lesson planning skills.
Effective classroom management.

The teachers I've had have impacted me and helped make me who I am today. My goal is to be a light for kids and hopefully inspire them just like my favorite teachers did for me.

Hi Crystal! I am also a huge Taylor Swift fan, she was the first concert I ever went to when I was 10 and I loved it. I also sang You Belong With Me at my fifth grade talent show. I think that the class you had in high school, the VA Teachers of Tomorrow is super cool, I've never heard of something like that. I like that you know that you need to work on time management, it is huge with teaching, I also need to learn this. Good job!! -Danielle Enz

Hey Crystal! that's awesome that you have traveled outside of the country. It also must have been awesome growing up in Virginia Beach, I just moved here about two years ago and I love it!
