About Me
Hi! My name is Chloe. I'm 19 and a sophomore working towards an Elementary education degree at Old Dominion University. I have lived in Virginia Beach my whole life and love the outdoors. Other things I enjoy are art, movies, cooking, and I love animals. I have one sibling, an older sister, who I couldn't imagine life without! I started gymnastics when I was three years old and competed competitively until my sophomore year of high school when a medical issue caused me to stop. Once I reached my senior year of high school I was able to compete for my school on the gymnastics team. I think of my self as a kind-hearted, empathetic person, who wants to help others. I was greatly influenced by my fifth grade teacher and I would love to touch and influence children's lives like my teacher did to mine.

What I Need to Learn
I have so much to learn about teaching but I am looking forward to it. I need to learn how to create lesson plans and effective strategies for teaching students. I also need to learn how to evaluate my students to know wether they understand what I am teaching or not. Another thing I need to learn is how to control my classroom and how to give my students leniency without loosing control.
What I Know
I know that teaching takes a great deal of patience, respect, and care. There are so many ways for students to learn, and what works for one child might not work for another. Teachers have to adapt to their students needs, and for many other reasons, like if there is a pandemic, for example. Students also deserve equal opportunity, no matter race, background, status, or any other reason, so our generation needs to continue to work towards that.
The Teacher I Will Become:
I want to give my students tools they can use to grow even after they've left my classroom. I also want to be a teacher that encourages my students to tell me what kind of things they want to do in order help them engage and learn more. I want my students to know that I care for them, and will help them if I see they need it, or if they bring any problems to my attention. I want my students to be able to talk to me so we can create personal bonds that will ultimately make for a smoother, more fun, and more effective classroom. One of my main goals as a teacher is to create caring bonds between myself and the students, and the students with their classmates.

Hi Chloe, I loved reading your page! I especially enjoyed your "What I Know" Section, that fundamental knowledge will set you up for a great journey of fine-tuning and broadening your knowledge towards becoming a teacher! - Amber Pierce
I really enjoyed reading through your page! I also want to learn how to allow leniency in my classroom without loosing control! I also agree that teachers must be able to adapt to different students needs in order for them to succeed in the classroom! - Jlynn Padro
Chloe! I admire your honesty in the learning section. Don't stress about learning those things because your classroom will constantly evolve. With that said, I think you have a really good attitude going in. Knowing that teachers need to be adaptable is key. Hold on to that! Maybe remind older teachers of adaptability.
