Hi! My name is Kyra! I am a sophomore and am majoring in Elementary Education. I originally am from Charlotessvile, Virginia, but have been living in Hampton the past year. Some of my hobbies include, painting, singing, music, going to the beach and playing with my pets.
I know that every student is different. I know that it is important to reach students as a whole, but individually as well. Every child is going to have different experiences and needs and it is important to understand that.
I still need to learn how to balance being a kind teacher but also inforce the rules of the school and classroom. I want all of my future students to love me, but I need to learn to be an authoritative role and also be fun at the same time.
I hope to be an inspiration to my students. I want to be someone they are comfortable talking to and they want to be around me. I want to help prepare them for the future and also help them reach their hopes and dreams.
Kyra - I love the simplicity of your page and your Bitmoji is adorable. You strike me as a very compassionate young woman and I see your future students adoring you, without a doubt. In my experience compassion goes a long way to winning the trust of young people and trust encourages respect. I am confident you will be able to maintain order in your classroom without becoming an authoritarian. Thank you for being so kind. - Kyrie Boyle
Hi Kyra! I love you seem like a bright caring person. I can relate with trying to set boundaries but wanting the students to be your friend and trust you at the same time. I am sure you will be a great teacher and learn your own way and techniques to be able to separate the two! I also love how you are so confident in showing your students no matter what, they can reach for their dreams. There needs more teachers like you, to give the kids that confidence boost. - Hannah Miller
Hi Kyra! Like your writing, I can see that you are a caring and nice person. In your "What I Know" you are exactly right about "each student is different, but also should be treated as a whole." Strive to be bigger and better and you will be an amazing teacher to some amazing students! You got this !!!- Keira Coles
Hi Kyra! I think you are so right about finding a good balance between being a strong enforcer, and being kind at the same time. It can be hard, but once you find the balance its like riding a bike, you never forget! - Kayla Fredette
