Teaching & Learning in a Pandemic: Spring 2021

Hi My Name is Amber Blount and I am currently a TA at Children's Center and also currently pursing my bachelors in Elementary Education. I am an avid Nerd, I love to read watch movies and play video games. I cam from a large family where I learned to help and care for others. I hope to inspire and encourage others the way I was.

What I Know and What I do not Know

I know that all my Students have potential.

I know that all my students have a right to safe learning environment

I know that I am the pillar of support for my students future

I know that not all children learn the same.

I know that I need to be open minded, that everyone has an opinion.

The Things that I need help with

I need to be better with classroom management.

I need to have more confidence in myself.

I need to learn to have flexibility while in the classroom.

I need to learn to have confidence in my lessons.

The reason why I wanted to be a teacher is so that I can not only teach but learn. Because I am not a perfect person nor am I infallible. I want to teach and be taught.!!!

The Type of Teacher that I want to be

I want to be a source of open-mindedness. I want to be able to show my students that learning can be fun. I want to be able to impact their lives in a positive and impactful way. I want my students be able to challenge my ideas and feel safe to do so. I want to be a source of kindness, fairness, and warmth. A student should walk into a classroom and feel welcomed and feel like they can succeed.
