Who Am I?
Hello everyone, my name is Whitney, I am a 33 year old an mother to a 6th grader named, Landon. We live outside of Northern Virginia, in a rural town called Stephens City. I transferred to ODU as a Junior and am majoring in Elementary Education. I have been working for Frederick County Schools as a substitute teacher for quite sometime now.
What I Know
Or what I believe; is education is the key to success, and establishing a solid foundation can reshape the future. Although no one learns the same we all deserve the right to receive and achieve a high-quality education that meets our unique needs and abilities.
What I have to learn
Learn how to integrate lessons and strategies that recognize and remove barriers and challenges that students will face
How to successfully establish a classroom environment that allows students to feel safe and comfortable.
Learn how to successfully develop differential lessons that will reach all student regardless of their differences while engaging and embracing everyone's learning needs allowing students to reach their highest academic abilities while strengthening my teaching.
Learn the techniques and strategies of classroom management to keep students actively engaged, attentive, and respectful.
The teacher I will become
Will aspire to make a difference in others' life regardless of race, status, language, or differences.
The Teacher I will become will never give up and will remain dedicated to helping students reach their maximum potential.
The teacher I will become will maximize success by maintaining self awareness and consistently striving to learn, adapt and develop new techniques and strategies.
