We had our first-ever choir concert that included the Lockwood Chorus. It also had the middle school’s 6th, 7th, and 8th choirs and the high school concert choir. It was conducted by Quentin Staton, the choir and theater teacher here at Lockwood. The accompanist is Arle Lohof, also a special thanks to Conner Haman, the percussionist. To start the evening, the 6th graders welcomed the audience with Funga Alafia, which is ‘The Song of Welcome’ by Jill Gallina, and The Fiddler’s Bend, arranged by Catherine DeLanoy, which was their last group piece. Veteran’s Day is almost here, and the Lockwood 4th graders, led by Mrs. Stephanie Smith-Miller, will once again be putting on a musical salute to America’s soldiers. The performance will take place on Thursday, November 10th in the Lockwood Performing Arts Center. Everyone is welcome to attend, and is encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to help honor the members of the active military as well as our many veterans. Prior to the concert, there will be a reception at 12:30 pm in the high school Community Room, so come early and help Mrs. Smith-Miller and her talented group of fourth graders celebrate this special occasion.
