The Lockwood boys’ junior varsity soccer team played their first game of the season on Monday, August 29. They played at 4:00 pm at Amen Park in Billings against Billings Skyview’s junior varsity team
The momentum wasn’t in Lockwood's favor; it was two zero at the half. It wasn't the best game to play for Lockwood's Junior Varsity team, as it was 80 degrees outside, and they were in their all-black jerseys. Even though things didn’t go the way they hoped, the Lockwood team learned a lot from the game. They played their hearts out and the final score ended 6-0 with Skyview getting the win.
Skyview was more physical and made better, more direct passes. Lockwood's team chemistry will need to improve as they weren't always getting along and had mini-yelling battles between teammates.
The defense fell apart late in the second half. They had one or two defenders playing back. Lockwood’s Sean Schneider (Freshman), Landen Tresh (Freshman), and Caden Cook (Eighth Grader) played their hearts out, putting in one of their best games of the season.
