Adam Fields is the woodshop teacher at Lockwood High School, and he has been a teacher for about five years. Before teaching at Lockwood, he taught at Wahluke School District in Washington. He went to Kent-Meridian High School in Kent, Washington. He graduated from Central Washington University in 2016 with a bachelor's in science, technology, and education. Mr. Fields said that he decided to become a teacher because he wanted to help students better understand different pathways of their interests and help to prepare them for college and their future jobs.
One of his favorite things about working at LHS is that he gets to do something that he enjoys doing every day when he's teaching. "I like that the teachers and students come together to make a positive community." Mr. Fields stated. If he didn't become a teacher, he said that he would probably be working on trucks and also welding and building things. When asked if he wanted to change anything about the school, he responded that he wouldn't change anything.
Mr. Fields has six children, and three of them attend Lockwood Schools. One of his sons is a sophomore in high school, another is an eighth-grader in middle school, and he has a daughter in fifth grade. His wife is Amanda, and she's a doctor at Riverstone Clinic.
He enjoys hunting, hiking, spending time with his family, camping, and traveling. Outside of school, he works on his house and sometimes remodels it. Mr. Fields said that his favorite place to travel to so far is either the Caribbean or the mountains.
