Nycole LaRowe is one of the student counselors at Lockwood High School. She has been a counselor for six years, and this year will be her first time working at LHS. Before Lockwood, she was an elementary counselor at Lewistown Elementary for five years. She went to Belgrade High School and then to the University of Montana in Missoula, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master's in counselor of education. Mrs. LaRowe stated that she decided to become a school counselor because when she was in high school, she had an influential counselor who helped her through many things and helped prepare her for college. She said that she wants to do the same thing to help children become more prepared for their future.
She said that her favorite thing about her job is being able to meet up with the kids. When asked what she would change about the school, Mrs. LaRowe answered that she wanted everyone to promote more kindness to their peers and teachers. When asked if she didn't decide to become a counselor, she responded by saying, "If I didn't become a counselor I would probably be working as a probation officer."
Outside of school, Mrs. LaRowe enjoys playing golf, spending time with her family, and hiking. Her husband, Clint LaRowe, works as a structural estimator, and the two of them have a three-year-old daughter and two dogs.
