Lockwoods 4th graders will have a Veterans Day concert next Thursday, November 11th. Their teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Smith-Miller, has asked that we wear our red, white, and blue and support our little kids. They set up this concert in honor of the veterans who have served in the war. Before the play, they will be inviting veterans to a reception in our community room, and some of the kids have been selected to be ambassadors. This means that the kids will be greeting the veterans as they walk into the high school. This concert will be about Veterans Day and all of our soldiers. These little 4th graders will be performing in our new Lockwood Performing Arts Center in the high school. The veterans will go to the community room at 12:30, and then the play will start at 1:30. Once the concert starts the first song the kids will be singing is “The Star Spangled Banner” followed by “A Time To Remember'', “I Love The Grand Old Flag”, “ Welcome Home”, “We Honor You”,“ The Spirit of America” and “God Bless the USA”. There will also be a table set up with items that have been donated by different branches of the military, such as water bottles, t-shirts, and lanyards that the veterans can take home with them after the play is over with.
