Recently, Lockwood’s SkillsUSA team had the opportunity to attend a statewide competition in Helena. The team consists of Baeyl Browning, Dean Green, Jordan Bergstad and Liam Fields, four very talented students, and led by Mr. Adam Fields. They competed in Basic Welding, Basic Woodworking, Photography, Metal Sculpture, Prepared Speech, and Interviews. Additionally, one student ran for the state officer team.
They all competed very well in their events and learned many things to help them represent Lockwood even better next year.

Specifically, Jordan Bergstat placed second in Photography and Prepared Speech. Jordan had to present two matted photos she had taken for display at state to be judged. At Prepared Speech, Jordan had to give a speech she had written about this year's motto, and she had to have it memorized.
Also, Liam Fields ran for state officer. Liam had to give several speeches as well as answer questions asked by several of the current officers in front of the state delegates. Liam did very well and was elected state officer. Liam will be on the state officer team and will be representing Lockwood as he travels and goes to events with the state SkillsUSA officer team next school year.
For their first year as a SkillsUSA team competing at state, they did amazing and represented Lockwood School District with pride and honor.
