Thank You to all Vets, whether you are still serving and those at home, we thank you. We thank you for your service on this day every year. Vet’s go through so much to service, from leaving to fighting. These vets put everything on the line for our country. They have to leave their family for a long time if they are deployed. They also have to train almost every month depending on what troop and how high they are in the level may change how often and when they have training. Some families have to move around because a family member is a part of the Military.
Many places have deals for vets on Veterans Day. Applebees, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Texas Roadhouse, and a few others give out free meals. Many stores offer a 10% discount to all Vets, and they can get into National Parks for free. There are also concerts, such as put on by different schools and groups. Lockwood is having an event on veterans day. It’s a 4th-grade concert which is going to be held in the high school’s theater. The high school band and choir will also be performing at the Ceremony at the American Legion at 1540 Broadwater Avenue. The Ceremony begins at 10 am; however, music will begin 20 minutes before that at 9:40 am.
Jacob Pancheau was the English teacher for the first-ever year at Lockwood. Last year, the business teacher is now being covered by Aaron Koss because Pancheau has recently deployed overseas. He was deployed at the beginning of the year with the Lockwood High School Staff, sending him off. Mr. Klasa gave him a Lockwood flag and some Lockwood gear as a parting gift. He left shortly after and has been keeping in contact with Klasa. We keep Pancheau and all active Military in our hearts, minds, and prayers.
