By Lilo Therriault
When walking into the auditorium, the sound of old music played throughout. The curtains were gently lit by stage lights, as many continued to flood the room. Once everyone was sitting down, it was about five minutes before the lights in the room flicked off, and the music stopped, queuing the stage. The curtains opened to reveal a scene with Jordyn Weber, aka Miss Flannigan, and Emily Sweatt aka Mrs. Smith - talking about crime. After their short conversation, Austin Therriault, seemingly the very lively main protagonist, a" world class detective" Trent Trowell, walks into the scene. It was only a second before he stopped to monologue about himself and further introduce his character, which made the audience laugh. Miss Flannigan sat at the desk, and the man had a short conversation before introducing herself to the man as someone who needed the detective's help. Before she could tell him about the crime that had been committed, Gywn Cusak, aka Clarice Latriche, ran onto the stage and quickly captured everyone's attention! She told the detective of another case involving his arch-nemesis, Big Bill, aka Matthias Black. Trent Trowel, the world-class detective, then came up with a plan on how they will stop Big Bil, still ignoring Ms.Smith, causing her to leave annoyed. Their plan, however, involved Trent, his sidekick Miss Flannigan, and Clarice Latriche attending a party for world-class detectives, knowing Big Bill would show up for some secret planning area below the rented building. When they arrived, many other great detectives were already present: Eustache, played by Spenser Hamrick, Tracy Dyck, played by Raleigh Doran, and Ms. Beatrice, also played by Emily Sweatt. Dr. Watson, aka Kaeson Cellmer, sauntered in proudly and introduced the female protagonist Shirley Holmes, played by Addy Robison. Before she could enter the room, the lights were cut, and some of the other actors wrestled around for a few seconds in the dark. Trent Trowel was knocked over, and all of the detective's trophies got stolen. After the robbery, a police officer and Shirley Holmes entered the stage, leading all the detectives to team up with Shirley Holmes and solve the case. There were many jokes throughout the rest of the play, which really tied everything together. The play's ending was not only a twist reveal but a surprise ending hinting at another case to be solved.
