The Lockwood music department has finally finished their year with the pop choir concert, which took place on May 17th. The LHS band also had a show on the 19th. The choir was a high school and middle school concert with the Swingin' Fortes included. The choir concert had many solos and duets take place. Hailey Barta sang the solo in the Swingin' Fortes performed of "Larger than Life" by Pink Zebra.
Sixth-grader Eddence DiTonno sang a solo in "Touch the Sky," arranged by Mac Huff, the 6th-grade opening piece. “Wagon Wheel”, arranged by Roger Emerson, had featured solos by Lily Schwartz and Jaxon Hauck and was the 6th-second song. Still, it was followed by "Hit Me with Your Best Shot/One Way or Another," arranged by Mac Huff.
The seventh graders did their first two songs, "Counting Stars," arranged by Mac Huff, and "Photograph" by Sheeran/Brymer, without solos. "Some Nights" was their last piece with seven solo/ensembles: Emerald Browning, Abby Bare, Harper Dotson, Lily Morley, Kenna Norris, Charlie Spencer, and Bella Weatherwax.
Pattern/Emerson was the one who put together the eighth grader’s first song, "Fight Song," which had solos by Allie Warner and Emiley Lidstrom. The next was from the movie The Greatest Showman. "A Million Dreams" was arranged by Mac Huff, with solos and duets from Railey Fraker Fox, Raven Martinez, and Hannah Adams. The final piece by 8th grade had speaking solos done by Brooke Rose and JazzLynn Meyers, with the music arranged by Mark Brymer.
Finally, the high school choir started with Bon Jovi’s "Livin’ on a Prayer", arranged by Mac Huff. The solo was done beautifully by Mareka Ball, and Hailey Barta and Lily Conklin performed the duet. "From Now On" was the other song from The Greatest Showman; Roger Emerson arranged the music and the soloist was Kori Clark. Gwynivere Cusak started the next song, "Don't Stop Me Now," by Marcury and Brymer. The choirs then combined with singing a song planned for before COVID hit," John Denver in Concert" by Denver and Billingsley.
