I was able to sit down with Lockwood High principal, Mr. Klasna, to get some information on next year's class options. I asked him what classes will be offered and the requirements for those classes, along with whether or not any classes will be changed, and if so, how so.
Mr. Klasna was more than willing to answer my questions. He told me there will be plenty of new courses added next year, with most of them being an advancement to the next grade in that subject, like senior-level English, science and math. There will also be a new class called AFJROTC, which is a class that has a lot of hard work involving workout days and a specific uniform, along with some dual-credit classes and low-impact fitness elective classes. There will also be new teachers for the new courses like another English teacher, science teacher, math teacher, etc.
So what does it take to be in these classes? Like most of you probably guessed, most of the courses will be required, such as the English classes. But for those who may be interested in taking the new electives, there will need to be an entry-level class that you must have previously taken and passed. With that, you would then be able to move on to those classes above the entry-level. Lastly, there will be some changes to the requirements for some classes, and the names of some classes may be changed as well.
That is the main breakdown and questions that we got answers to, which is very helpful. Thanks to Mr. Klasna for the information.
