On the 15th of January, the Lockwood speech and debate had their first-ever home tournaments. Also, as a first, Lockwood got a first-place won by Gwyniere Cusak, a Junior who placed in Original Oratory. This was the first time Lockwood has ever got a first place in speech and debate. Liara Larson was a close second placer who got second in Dramatic interpretation. Others who had placed included Elizabeth Buckalew, who got 8th in Impromptu. Emily Brandenburg, who got 8th in Informative Speaking. For debate, Nevaeh Lee and Mason James got 7th place in Public Forum for this tournament. Everyone there did an excellent job at the last tournament before divisionals in Haven, which is set to take place on Saturday the 22nd. Good luck, everyone.
