A new St. Vincent’s Primary Care Clinic is opening in Lockwood, Montana. They had the groundbreaking on July 8th, on the Lockwood School Campus. This clinic will be open to the Lockwood Community. “The whole business will be open this spring, some of that depends on the construction and the weather.” Tobin Novasio, Superintendent of Lockwood said. They’re working hard right now to get everything boxed in so that it is weatherproof and during the winter months work on the inside. Due to covid, there was a supply change and that led to them having to redesign the roof due to different materials. The Lockwood School Board has always taken the approach that they wanted to be added to the community, to value the family’s that don’t have children in the schools, they want to have value to those taxpayers. Lockwood is the largest community in Montana that doesn’t have any medical facilities. “When I came here 10 years ago, it was on the list of goals, to have a clinic on the campus and we were able to accomplish that” - Mr. Novasio said. The clinic model is being used by other schools around the nation. The clinic is gonna be a primary care service but also a walk-in clinic. There will be about 15-20 people in the building. This medical care facility isn’t just for the students and their families, but also for the old folks in our community so they don’t have to go across the river to access medical care. The Lockwood community is extremely excited for the new clinic to be open in spring
