Red Nose Day

17 March 2023

The charities committee came up with the theme 'Put on a Funny Face' for Red Nose Day 2023.  The pupils were invited to come to school with funny hair or have their face painted.  Everyone made such an amazing effort!  Please click on the YouTube link to see what we got up to!

We learned a BSL song to sing on the day and we took part in a whole school quiz.  The committee decided to do things a bit differently this time, so we set up a Just Giving Page where people could donate by using a QR code.  We also distributed our posters all over the community.  We raised a wonderful amount - £317!

After counting all of the money that we collected for 'Christmas Jumper Day', we are pleased to announce that we will be donating £260.57 to AberNecessities!  The charity committee would like to thank everyone that contributed to this amazing amount!  We are sure that this money will go a long way in making someone's Christmas a happy one!

We are so excited to host our first charity event next week!  Here are some of our final posters.  These were handed out to each class and some were put up around school to remind everyone about it.

We are working on our first charities event!  We would like to raise money for people in need during the festive season.  We are organising 'Christmas Jumper Day at Danestone Primary 2022'!  We made some beautiful posters to promote the event.  We are hoping that pupils will donate whatever amount of money they can so that we can share our festive Danestone cheer to our community and city.

Term 2

The committee voted for their favourite mascot design and we have a winner!  Well done! Thank you to everyone that returned their mascots, it was really hard to choose a winner.

Term 1

We had a very successful first meet with the new charities committee!  All of the pupils are so eager to start and had great ideas about what they would like to achieve this year.   We spoke about what the school has done in the past to support different charities and what charity means to us as a school and a community.  We are currently working on a Charities Mascot and will be voting for the one we like best at our next meeting.

Meet the Charities Committee!
