The Peaceful Pod
Ta da! Welcome to our new relaxation space at Danestone, 'The Peaceful Pod'.
Here at Danestone, the health and wellbeing of our pupils is of the utmost importance to us. This room within the school has been developed to help children have a calm, quiet space where they can talk about their feelings, practise mindfulness and feel safe.
After speaking with pupils across the school, we were able to gather ideas from the children about how to make the room a special place for all. They were able to vote for the name of the room from a selection and 'The Peaceful Pod' was chosen as the favourite.
Here is what our pupils had to say...
PEF Survey - Pupil Feedback.pdfWithin the room we already have many of the things that the children mentioned they would like - beanbags, fidget toys, books, toys, cushions and blankets. We also added 'Fred' our lovely Danestone doggie that is there for cuddles when someone needs one!
We plan to make improvements to the room throughout the year so that we look after this special place.
