Parent Council

Our Parent Council is a vital part of our school community. We do our best to represent the views of all parents and to help all parents become involved and engaged in school life and their child’s learning.

There are a whole variety of ways in which we do that!

Our parent council meetings are open to all parents to attend if they so wish, you are more than welcome so do pop along.

We will issue and share all minutes taken at the meetings and if you cannot attend then let us know your issue and we will raise it on your behalf.

We are always pleased to hear from parents. We need to know your views to represent you the best we can. Please do contact us with your thoughts, ideas or questions at any point.

Contact us by emailing pcdanestone@aberdeen.npfs.org.uk  Or contact the school office and leave a message for us.

We always look to raise funds for the school so the school and pupils will benefit from an extra budget for books, supplies, parties and treats.

We welcome all parents who would like to get involved. Come along to any of our meetings or get in touch if you would like to help with a particular project or area of parent council work. Meetings are currently run via google meets and have found this a good media for most parents to join in.

We are always looking for people willing to be involved in a fundraising team, safety aspects, playground and engagement. Joining our team does not mean you need to do everything, every little bit of input helps.

Please also find us on Facebook and Twitter for additional information

We look forward to hearing from you.

Treasurer: Angela Mitchell

Secretary: EJ Bulman

Danestone Primary Parent Council

Who are we ?

The main function of the Parent Council is to support the school in its work with the pupils and parents and represent the voice of the parents. We also support the school with various projects from playgrounds to road safety.

What do we do?

We meet every 6 weeks to discuss any issues, needs or requirements for the school. Help plan social events for the school e.g School Open Day. Fundraise and plan future fundraising for school upgrades or new books and equipment.

How can you help?

Everyone is welcome to attend a parent council meeting, however we do understand not everyone can commit to a meeting every month. We do however need your help to fundraise for the school. Your time is a precious commodity and even 1 hour helping with one event can have a huge benefit in what we can do. Whether we try and brainstorm ideas, need printing expertise, or people on the day of an event we need you. Fundraising meetings can be ad hoc and very informal and we encourage everyone to come and help plan or run an event. We can do so much more if we pull together.

Please keep an eye out on Facebook or email for meetings or drop us an email if you have any suggestions or you can help with anything.
