1 Origin

Xuthus was born in Melitaea, Thessaly, in 1488 BC. [Strabo.14.1.39]

Xuthus' father was Hellen, son of Deucalion. [Apo.1.7.3, Paus.7.1.2, Strabo.8.7.1]

Xuthus' mother was Orseis (or Phthia). [Apo.1.7.3]

 

2 Family

Xuthus married Creusa, daughter of Erichthonius, the fourth king of Athens. [Paus.7.1.2]

Xuthus and Creusa had a son, Achaeus. [Apo.1.7.3, Paus.7.1.3]

3 Others

In 1470 BC, Xuthus was expelled from Melitaea by his brothers Aeolus and Dorus and moved to Athens. [Paus.7.1.2]

In 1465 BC, Xuthus founded Tetrapolis (Oenoe, Marathon, Probalinthus, Tricorynthus) in northeastern Attica. [Strabo.8.7.1]

In 1442 BC, Xuthus moved from Attica to Aegialus (later Achaia). [Paus.7.1.3]
