In 1595 BC, Xanthus was born in Argos.

Xanthus' mother was Oreaside (or Sosis). [EuriSchoOr.932.02, Hyginus.145]

Xanthus had a daughter, Lycia. [FGrH.1.256]

In 1560 BC, Xanthus migrated from Argos to Lycia and founded Xanthus.

Afterwards, Xanthus settled on an uninhabited island called Issa (later Lesbos). [Diod.5.60.5]
