Euneus was born in Nemea, Argolis, in 1230 BC.
Euneus' father was Pronax, son of Talaus. [See Hypsipyle]

Euneus is believed to have participated in the Achaeans' expedition to Troy under Achilles in 1188 BC.
During the Trojan War, Euneus was the ruler of Lemnos. [Home.Il.7.464]
The Achaeans were defeated by the sons of Antenor and left Troy, but Euneus probably continued to live in Lemnos.
Thoas, the father of Euneus' mother Hypsipyle, migrated from Naxos to Lemnos and ruled the island. [Diod.5.79.2]
When Euneus migrated from Nemea to Lemnos, the island was inhabited not by the people who had migrated from Naxos with Thoas, but by the Minyans who had fled from Iolcus in Thessaly. [Apo.3.13.7, FGrH.Nr333.F62, Strabo.9.5.15]
