It is believed that Thestor moved from Argos to Megara in 1247 BC accompanied by Melampus and Coeranus. [Estimated from Paus.1.43.5 and Paus.1.44.5]

Melampus was Thestor's great-grandfather, and Coeranus was his paternal uncle.
