In 1247 BC, Adrastus went into exile with Polybus, who lived in Sicyon, after fighting with Amphiaraus, son of Oecles. [Apo.3.6.2, Paus.2.6.6]
Polybus was Adrastus' maternal grandfather.
3.2 Return to Argos

The condition for the reconciliation was that Amphiaraus marry Eriphyle, daughter of Talaus. [Pind.Ne.9.15]
3.3 King of Sicyon
In 1236 BC, Adrastus succeeded his grandfather Polybus and ruled Sicyon for four years. [Euseb.175, Paus.2.6.6]
3.4 Exile of Tydeus
In 1226 BC, Adrastus received Tydeus, son of Oeneus, who had fled from Calydon in Aetolia, and married him to his daughter Deipyla. [Apo.1.8.5, Hyginus.97]
Oeneus' mother Aeolia was the sister of Bias, the father of Talaus, the father of Adrastus.
In other words, Tydeus and Adrastus were second cousins, with Bias' father Amythaon being their common great-grandfather.
It is thought that Tydeus came to Argos relying on Amphiaraus, who was born in Calydon, but it is assumed that Amphiaraus did not live in Argos. [See Amphiaraus]
3.5 Polyneices' Exile
In 1225 BC, Adrastus accepted Polyneices, the son of Oedipus, who had fled from Thebes, and married him to his daughter Argia. [Hyginus.72, Paus.9.5.12]
Adrastus was the son of Lysianassa, the daughter of Polybus, the foster father of Polyneices' father Oedipus.
It is also believed that Adrastus had met Polyneices, who lived in Tenea in Corinth, while he was living in Sicyon.
3.6 Adrastus' Attack on Thebes
In 1215 BC, Adrastus led an army centered on the Argives and invaded Thebes.
The purpose of the expedition was to make Polyneices, who had been exiled from Thebes, king of Thebes.
The expeditionary force was defeated by the Thebans, and all seven of the commanders of the Argives were killed except Adrastus. [Apo.3.6.1, Hyginus.70, Paus.9.9.1]
3.7 Epigoni's Attack on Thebes
In 1205 BC, the sons of a warrior killed in the attack on Thebes by the Argives led by Adrastus led an expedition to Thebes. [Apo.3.7.2, Diod.4.66.1, Paus.9.9.4, Paus.9.5.13]
Adrastus also participated in the expedition, occupied Thebes, and Thersander, the son of Polyneices, became king of Thebes. [Paus.9.5.14]

Adrastus died in Pagae in Megara on his way back from Thebes to Argos. [Paus.1.43.1]
Aegialeus, the son of Adrastus, who died in the battle with the Thebans, was also buried in Pagae. [Paus.1.44.3]
