Ladon was born in Cadmeia (later Thebes) in 1395 BC.

Ladon had a daughter, Metape (or Melia). [Apo.3.12.6, Diod.4.72.2, Paus.9.10.5]

Ladon's name was given to a river that flows on the east side of Thebes. [Paus.9.10.6]

A descendant of Tenerus, the son of Ladon's daughter Metape, was the prophet Tiresias.

Tiresias was a descendant of Udaeus of Sparti. [Apo.3.6.7]

It is therefore assumed that Ladon's father was Udaeus.
