1 Origin

Egesta was born in Ilium, Troad, in 1300 BC.

Egesta's father was Phaenodamas (or Hippotes), son of Ilus. [SerCVAene.1.550]

Egesta married Trojan and had a son, Aegestus (or Acestes). [FGrH.790.36, SerCVAene.1.550]

Egesta's husband is presumed to be the son of Assaracus (or Asarakos). [Antiq.1.52.3]

In 1295 BC, Egesta's father and brothers were killed by Laomedon, and Egesta fled to Sicily with her sisters. [Antiq.1.52.2, Lycoph.Cassa.1115]
