Pherespondos' mother was Iphthime, daughter of Dorus.

Pherespondos' father was probably a Pelasgian.

Pherespondos had brothers, Lycos and Pronomos.

One of them married Polydore, daughter of Danaus, and had a son, Dryops.

Dryops became the eponym of the Dryopians.
