Eriphyle is famous for the legend of a necklace.

In 352 BC, Phayllus, son of Theotimus, tyrant of Phocis, plundered the necklace of Eriphyle from Delphi. [Parthe.25]

Pausanias writes that the necklace was also found in the sanctuary of Adonis and Aphrodite on Cyprus. [Paus.9.41.2]

These legends are thought to be fabrications inspired by the necklace dedicated to Delphi.
