At the beginning of the meetings give an invitation to viewers to join the Empathy Training MOOC project. We record the meetings and place the video on YouTube and Facebook. People watch the video and it would be helpful to have an invitation to the viewers to join the project. So we want to make the case for why viewers might want to participate in the Empathy Training Design Team or in joining a team to go through the training.

    • We posted Team #1, meeting #2 video on Facebook and after a week it had around 180 views.

Presentation.

This is a project to design and build an amazing online multimedia empathy training course and MOOC. “Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale.”

We forming learning and design teams of 6 participant and go through the book Listening Well: The Art of Empathic Understanding by William Miller. William Miller is co-founder of the Motivational Interviewing process and has been teaching empathic listening skill for over 40 years.

The core part of the course is we read a few chapters a week and discuss them using the empathic circle dialogue process so that we practice the empathic listening.

Our Training Teams meet for at least 6 weeks, with 2 hour meetings.

Activities.

We also do the activities in the book, as well as, participants design, document and facilitate activities.

We have 2 Tracks, One is Design Team other is Learning Team

These teams are ongoing, meaning we are constantly forming new teams as there is interest.
