My answers to the questions are: my understanding of the questions may not be what you are looking for but here they are.
Why we are each working on the Empathy Course?
***I joined to learn how to improve my communication and empathy skills. I felt a need for improved interpersonal connection.

Why we are each working on developing the Empathy Circle?
*** to learn from the MI process and to improve my communication and empathy skills in a like minded group. I like collaboration.

Why we are each interested in empathy?
***I have had an interest in improving my communication and relational building skills my whole life; I like NVC and felt MI would provide similar skills. I wanted to have more felt experiences with others and engage with others with greater satisfaction on my part and theirs.

Adding another question: what have we each noticed in ourselves so far since starting this zoom empathy circle.
*** I have noticed great changes in myself. I am much calmer and receptive and actually listening to others better and with greater interest. My need for my own agenda to be heard seems to be mostly a non-issue during conversations. I am feeling more relaxed and spacious during conversations and feeling more satisfaction during and after the interaction. I am feeling more grounded. I can tell a change has and is occurring.

I would like to:
My contribution is questioning, exploring and discovering how we process emotions effectively and constructively with a language from the integrated mindful heart/mind.
My skill set is in writing, developing, coordinating, facilitating/training and delivering a group program/training from my experience in doing this for my own four, eight week and a 6 month corporate mindfulness curriculum trainings and retreats, which includes NVC. . Creating a clear outline, content , objectives, measurables, and analyzing its effectiveness is important for participants success, which my experience is in. I can facilitate empathy groups also.
Personally, my goal is to be effective in creating safe and empathic communication not as a technique but as process towards a felt understanding. I can work on this throughout the week, 3 hours a week is good.
Outcomes - objectives - from subjective point of view. - Personal sharing.
Blending object and subjective -
COMMENTS
Thank you for creating this empathy group. I am very interested in joining.
My experience with NVC began in the early 90’s vi Marshal Rosenberg and the local groups in Seattle, which was a huge and wonderful discovery for me, and couples perfectly with the mindfulness meditation I have been teaching since 2004, but my meditation practices began in 1978.
The importance of knowing how to express and receive empathy became even clearer to me recently from a job I was involved in, from which this desire for more empathy exposure was born. Then I began seeing more of your Facebook notices.
I am in a job search now, and a time after 6 pm weekdays, or Saturday after 1pm would be ideal for me. I do not have a job secured yet but am hoping this will be soon. So committing to a daytime slot may not work for me.
Please feel free contact me for questions or dialogue. I feel excited to potentially be in on the ground floor of your visionary project which would meet my need for learning more about our intelligent heart.

What questions do you have about the empathy training project and MOOC?
I see Edwin has been offering these groups since 2015.
What has been the outcome of these and are you bringing past groups together?
Or is this summer 2018 group the first group to move forward on a project like we are focusing on?
How can we incorporate other empathy interests, as in cultivating empathy conversations ( activism, personal, spiritual, business/work>) ?
Edwin answers:
Several attempts in the past, never went anywhere. Bill’s book gives a solid training foundation and structure for a online training
Empathy Tent is another big project on the side, political activism oriented.
Lot of different ways of seeing activism. Exploring together ways to encompass all the different ways empathy can be present:
political,
personal,
spiritual practice
etc.
