On Arrival Writing Question:
Why is building a culture of empathy important to you?
Varsha
Building culture of empathy is important to me because in my opinion, people must first seek to understand others first and then judge them for who they really are.
If people practice empathy, they will get to know the reality of others and hence would have right understanding about them.
Having right understanding about others would help everyone connect with one another and bring everyone closer.
Bill
building a culture of empathy is important to me because it is the only way we can collaborate in order address the grave problems we face as a species.
Peter
Building a culture of empathy is important to me because everyone matters.
Cielja
Why building a culture of Empathy is important to me.
I could say I have no choice, ever since I put out the question after being devastated reading the Medea in the first year of Theater Academy, whether “ Nothing changed In over 2000 years? We still love to play jealousy and murder and we go to the theatre for that? I was sick for a week. Lateron I forgot about it, but encountering the Parent Effectiveness Training I knew we could make a difference. It was possible to learn peaceful conflict resolution and
I would love to live in a world of lovingkindness, or joy and support of each other!
Edwin
The world community, society and culture has many problems. From war, conflict, hunger, poverty, addiction, disconnection, fear, anxiety, loneliness, etc, etc. I see that mutual empathy is a first step and foundation for addressing these problems and creating more well being in the world. A culture of empathy is about creating well being and flourishing for all people and the planet.
Why you may want to join our Empathy Training Design Team?
We are inviting anyone that is watching this to take part in our project. This is our empathy training design team #1 and this is our 5th meeting. We are working on designing an empathy training course and MOOC which will build a culture of empathy. We want to invite everyone who is watching this to take part and join us. You can visit EmpathyTent.com and there is a link to this project. We are always forming new teams and in fact we have 4 people right now who are interested and we are looking for 2 more to build Team 3. Please do join us.
We can go around and everyone share why people might want to join us in building a culture of empathy.
Varsha. Building a culture of empathy is important to me because in my opinion, people should first seek to understand others and then judge them for how they really are. If people practice empathy they will get to know the reality of others and hence have the right understanding about them. Having right understanding about others would help everyone connect with one another and bring everyone closer.
2:00 Ceilija, It is the best opportunity for you to try it out, to really start from the beginning and make a difference in your own life and family and work environment and beyond. But you have to start with yourself. This is an amazing opportunity, all people who join all have the same aime of getting to know what is empathy and how it can enhance their lives.
2:43 Peter. Join because everybody matters. The people watching matter, the people not watching matter, everyone that you imagining and can not imagine in the world matters and how do you hold that in your life. To know that everyone matter and that everyone has something to say. Sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it easy to hear that, so what are you going to do to live with that?
Edwin. And taking part in this training development is going to help you learn that and learn those skills and way of being.
Bill.I think that considering the problems that we face today. They are species wide problems and so we need species wide solutions, and a certain amount of cooperation in order to address them. Talk about the ozone hole over the antarctic, and things like that. And it’s not just about global warming or things like that but its about a feeling of community and giving people a way to be heard. Joining this group would help you individually in your own person life achieved that way, how to listen to others, and how to communicate effectively.
Edwin. So if you want to save the planet and stop global warming you can join our project.
If you don’t want to join a training design team we are going to be holding empathy trainings that anyone can join. You can go through the training without working on the designing.
