Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski, and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits – where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.
My colleague Jack Fonseca has penned a must-read piece about how Mark Carney is even more dangerous than Justin Trudeau. While legacy media has largely whitewashed Mr. Carney, Jack goes on a deep dive into who this man really is and what he stands for. You may be shocked at what Jack uncovered.
I broke a story earlier this week on Mr. Carney, who claims to be Catholic, receiving Holy Communion at a Church in Ottawa last weekend after listening to a visiting priest give an astounding pro-life homily in which the priest warned those who may be in mortal sin against receiving. The story is now being picked up by other outlets.
It was great to see the Catholic Civil Rights League join Canada’s bishops in denouncing the Federal Finance Committee proposals to strip churches and pro-life groups of their charitable status. The League is calling on all friends and supporters to oppose the measures.
A new study shows that access to killing preborn babies expanded "substantially" in the five years after the abortion pill was approved and pharmacies began dispensing it in Ontario. The abortion pill is a murder weapon of mass destruction. It is fast becoming the go-to weapon against the smallest and most vulnerable among us – the preborn child.
Saskatchewan’s Catholic Bishops have released a letter reaffirming their strong opposition to euthanasia. They call for “medical assistance in living” for the sick and the elderly. It’s good to see some leadership on this front.
I was glad to see a women’s group sue the Canadian Government to keep men out of female prisons. The lawsuit seeks to end the practice of forcibly confining female inmates of federal prisons with trans-identifying male inmates. Let’s pray they win.
Don’t miss this week’s must-see video in which our own Kim Headley delivers an astoundingly powerful pro-life message to the United Nations Commission on Population and Development. Kim’s message was so powerful that she even received rare clapping afterward.
Finally, don’t miss my reflection at the end about something astonishing that researchers recently discovered about light from outside interacting with babies in the womb. Science used to think it was dark in the womb. This research changed everything.
Please note that there will be no News Bits next Friday as our CLC team will be off, like many of you, commemorating the Easter Triduum. If you appreciate receiving the News Bits, please support them with a Lenten donation. Thank you!

Canada’s top pro-life org drops truth bomb at United Nations: ‘Every Abortion kills a pre-born child’
Maureen, researchers astonishingly found that light from the outside world reaches babies in the womb.
Researchers from the University of Waikato were astounded to discover that it is not “dark” in the womb, as previously thought, but that an astonishing amount of light travels through the mother’s skin to reach her baby.
Light from the outside world can illuminate the womb to the degree of “a full moon in clear conditions,” researchers stated in their paper published in Scientific Reports.
The research team was even more surprised to discover that preborn babies react to light.
This groundbreaking study has far-reaching implications for understanding prenatal human development.
Science continues to open new windows to the womb, revealing the humanity of the preborn and highlighting the spectacular journey of life that begins at conception.
Please join me in praying that the truth that preborn babies are full members of the human family with the inalienable right to life enlightens the darkened minds of our times.
Light dispels darkness. Truth banishes error. The pro-life movement is on the path to victory.
I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Holy Week as we prepare for our Lord's passion, death, and glorious Resurrection next Sunday!
Be bold and daring for life!
