Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.
Our sister organization, Quebec Life Coalition, has sued the Quebec Government for banning pro-life speech around abortion mills. "Our goal is clear: to eliminate the 50-meter bubble zone surrounding abortion facilities across Quebec, zones that prevent us from providing support to pregnant women in need outside these centers,” said Campagne Québec-Vie president Georges Buscemi. Bravo!
The Trudeau Liberals, in an unsurprising move, have pledged to make “abortion rights,” that is, the killing of children in the womb, a major plank of the upcoming 2025 election. It looks like they're taking a page right out of Kamala Harris’ playbook. Perhaps they didn’t notice that this strategy didn’t work so well for the US Democrats. Campaigning on the blood of the innocent is simply diabolical.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia recently passed a new “effective referral” policy for the province's doctors that forces them to participate in immoral practices such as abortion, medical transitions, and euthanasia by facilitating them.
This policy compels doctors to go against their consciences or face disciplinary action if they refuse to go along with making such a referral. Freedom of conscience is a Charter right. Premier Tim Houston must protect the province's doctors before it's too late and all the good ones leave the province. No one wants to be left in the care of doctors without a conscience.
Abortion numbers continue to rise, this time in Ontario, in the wake of Mr. Trudeau spending hundreds of millions of dollars since he came to power to “increase access” to and “expand” abortion in Canada. It’s so sick and twisted, but he got what he paid for – with our tax dollars. Not a single tax dollar should ever go toward killing another person. The preborn are our country’s future. They should be protected by law.
Canadian pro-life leaders are hopeful that a second Trump presidency will lead to pro-life gains that will spill over into Canada. Catholic Register obtained comments from a number of them, including our own president, Jeff Gunnarson, all of whom gave some good perspectives.
Don’t miss the must-see video of the week in which Charlie Lewis, who worked for 15 years covering religion and ethics at The National Post, shares what it's like to be sick in Canada and know you're eligible for euthanasia. He calls upon Canadians to create a culture of "love and care," so no one feels compelled to use Trudeau's MAiD service. His message is powerful and poignant.
Finally, don’t miss my reflection at the end, in which I respond to Mr. Trudeau’s recent defence of abortion, which took place in front of a roomful of young people.

Maureen, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently released on social media a video of him defending the killing of preborn children to a roomful of young people.
When a male participant asked him about his thoughts on “abortion rights,” Mr. Trudeau responded: “It’s simple: It’s a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body.”
The problem is that it’s not so simple.
In pregnancy, there are two bodies: the body of the mother and the body of the baby.
The preborn child has his own DNA, brainwaves, and a heartbeat separate from the mother. If the child is male, he also has testicles. His male organ cannot be part of the “woman’s body.”
A new, unique human life begins at conception, when sperm meets egg. The newly conceived human being needs only time and space for the miracle of his or her life to unfold.
The woman may choose to do what she wants with her own body, but she may not choose what to do with someone else’s body – namely the preborn child living inside of her.
If a woman aborted her own body, she would be dead.
Logic, truth, and science are on the side of life.
Be bold and daring for life!
