Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.
There’s a saying that you don’t get flak unless you’re over the target. Well, CLC must be right over the target, given the immense amount of pushback we’ve received from corporate media along with LGBT activists over our postcard campaign in New Brunswick.
Our campaign simply warns parents about the dangers of gender ideology in their children’s schools and urges them to support Premier Higgs’ education directive requiring schools to obtain parental consent before teachers can push children toward sexual “transition.”
We’ve received hate messages threatening violence and even death. We’ve been pilloried on social media platforms such as Reddit. We’ve also been subject to attack pieces by the usual mainstream media suspects, including CBC and Global News. While the added publicity is drawing much-needed attention to our campaign, we ask you to join us in prayer for spiritual protection for our organization and all our staff. You can read those reports below.
Despite these attacks, we will not back down in defending your right as parents to know what is happening to your children in schools. And, we will certainly not stop defending vulnerable minors from the clutches of those who seek to rob them of their identity as male or female and push them in the direction of sterilizing hormones and mutilating surgeries. Such interventions are simply child abuse and are indefensible in every measure.
In other news, Prolife Alberta has launched a campaign urging Premiere Danielle Smith to repeal the onerous and undemocratic bubble zones that surround the province’s abortion centres. The group has penned a powerful open letter to the Premier. Please read this letter, and, if you live in Alberta, please share it with all your like-minded family members and friends. It would be great if Alberta were to lead our country in dropping abortion bubble zones in a similar way it led in protecting children from transgender ideology.
Another province has sadly fallen prey to the lie that women need to poison their God-gifted fertility to succeed. Manitoba is now moving to provide free, that is, taxpayer-funded, contraceptives to women. Given our country's plummeting fertility rate of 1.33, provinces should be investing in pro-family policies to increase the birth rate, not provide women with measures to prevent children from coming into existence – never mind the fact that hormonal contraceptives are abortifacient. Contraception is the foundation of the culture of death.
Our summer intern Nathalie Comrie has penned her thoughts on what it was like to share her abortion testimony at this year’s National March for Life in Ottawa. You can find that in the “inspiring stories” section.
Nathalie’s gripping testimony on Parliament Hill is the “must-see” video of the week.
Finally, don’t miss my reflection at the end about how Leonardo da Vinci, one of the greatest minds of the Renaissance, would never have fallen for the pro-abortion “my body, my choice” argument.

Maureen, Leonardo da Vinci is regarded as one of the greatest artists and thinkers that ever lived.
His unlimited desire for knowledge fuelled all that he thought and wrote about.
Da Vinci’s sketches of a preborn child in utero, created over 500 years ago, are astonishingly accurate. They are recognized today as “groundbreaking.”
He did not have ultrasound machines or advanced medical technology. He trusted his own eyes and the power of observation.
This resulted in da Vinci faithfully capturing the humanity of the preborn child in his medical notebooks.
Da Vinci would have ridiculed those today who champion “reproductive rights” using the slogan, “My body, my choice.”
He would have pointed to his anatomically correct sketches that clearly show that in pregnancy, there are two bodies: the body of the mother and the body of the baby.
Pro-life has always been pro-science.
Be bold and daring for life!
