Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.

Do you remember how back in 2018, Prime Minister Trudeau effectively barred pro-life organizations from receiving summer job grants for students by first asking them to tick a box on the application stating that they agreed that abortion is a right? Of course, pro-lifers could not agree to do this. Well, it turns out that it was the pro-abortion lobby that successfully asked the Liberals to do this. And guess what? The pro-abortion lobby is at it again. But, this time, they’re asking the Liberals to only allow employers to receive summer job grants if they first agree that assisted suicide, that is, doctors killing the sick and elderly through Trudeau’s MAiD regime, is a human right. You can read all about this and what it really means in a report I penned below.

Last week I told you about the good news that Alberta’s regulatory college for doctors, the CPSA, had dropped a proposal that would force doctors to make an effective referral for patients requesting a medically and morally problematic service that the doctor did not want to participate in, such as abortion, assisted suicide, or transgender affirming interventions. We sent out a press release as soon as we learned the news and the story was picked up by numerous independent outlets, including LifeSiteNews, Epoch Times, The Counter Signal, and Catholic Register. I was glad to see these outlets quoting from our press release and sharing the good news. You can read our press release below.

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs has given an important interview with Rebel News where he spells out why he’s battling for parental rights. I’ve quoted his most important words beneath the link to the story.

Steve Jalsevac, co-founder of LifeSiteNews, has released three important interviews he recently did with former CLC President Jim Hughes. The interviews are chock-full of Canadian pro-life history including stories of pro-life heroes. These interviews are a must-watch for anyone who wants to understand the pro-life movement in Canada, where it’s come from, and where it’s going.

Today, our neighbours down south are marching for life in Washington D.C. Now that the March has completed one of its main objectives with the overturning of Roe v. Wade two years ago, pro-life advocates continue to gather to demand that America protect all human life from the moment of conception onward. One important case currently before the U.S. Supreme Court is about the legality of chemical abortion. If the Supreme Court, which currently enjoys a Conservative majority with a number of judges who are pro-life (thanks to Donald Trump), countless lives could be saved. Please pray for the success of the March today and for America to return to a nation that cherishes and protects life. Also, please pray for the safety of CLC staff and a busload of students who travelled down to the event.

Don’t miss the powerful diaper commercial that quotes Elon Musk about having babies and saving the world. It’s a totally awesome pro-life and pro-family commercial from a company that obviously loves babies and loves life. The ad is going bonkers online, racking up almost a million views on X (formerly Twitter) in 24 hours. This is how to make ads: sell a great product and change the world at the same time. Bravo!

Finally, don’t miss my reflection at the end about Argentina President Javier Milei powerfully slamming abortion in an amazing address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week.

"Why is it that people like Arthur are not satisfied until everyone bends the knee to their gruesome and bloodthirsty religion where the “right” to choose to kill and be killed is its most important value?"

Rebel News: New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs on parental rights, Trudeau, and more

“In today's society parents, come in many diverse situations, but they all care about the kids that they're raising. So, I think it's a pretty fundamental issue right across the province. And, it needs to stay focused on what it is and what it’s for. And it's for having parents being parents, and being engaged with the raising of their kids, and ensuring that they don't lose that. Parents are the continuity that children have through their life. I mean they have one teacher after another, and they have one mentor after another in society. But, parents are the constant. So, we need to ensure that they're treated as such,” said Premier Higgs who was one of the first premiers in the nation to affirm parental rights in the classroom and reject the concealment of radical indoctrination of children in schools.

Rebel News: LGBTQ lobby continues legal challenge of parental rights in Saskatchewan

“UR Pride commenced a constitutional challenge to Saskatchewan mandating parental consent as a prerequisite to any 'social transitions' under 16 years of age. They claim it contravenes section 12 of the Charter, which prohibits 'cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.’”

Euthanasia Prevention Coalition: Canada has revealed the horror of assisted dying

“But stories of homeless, poor, disabled and desperate people accessing a state-assisted death, because it is the ‘easier’ option, are merely the grim, logical consequence of legalising assisted dying in the first place. Assisted dying undermines the value of life. It elevates death as the ultimate solution to suffering. Canada is a warning to the world. This is where the ‘right to die’ leads us.”

Euthanasia Prevention Coalition: How a $7M donation to Canada’s euthanasia lobby brought in Trudeau’s evil regime

“In 2018, Dying with Dignity Canada received a donation of $7 million from the late Vancouver entrepreneur David Jackson, an amount that’s been described as transformational.”

Maureen, I was stunned to watch newly elected Argentina President Javier Milei boldly accuse global elites at the World Economic Forum (WEF) of using socialist tools, including “radical feminism,” “population control,” and “bloody” abortion, to impoverish nations, undermine true human freedom, and destroy the world. You can watch his whole address here.

Here’s what he said: “The only thing that this agenda of radical feminism has resulted in is greater intervention by the State to hinder economic growth, giving work to bureaucrats who did not contribute anything to society, whether in the format of the Ministry of Women or in international organizations dedicated to promoting this agenda.”

“They [socialists] maintain that human beings damage the planet and that it must be protected at all costs, even going so far as to advocate for population control mechanisms or the bloody agenda of abortion,” Milei added. “These harmful ideas have strongly permeated society.”

Milei, who calls himself a libertarian, made it clear that socialism and the woke leftist agenda are destroying the world.

I’m sure the rich and famous that attended the WEF this year, a leftist organization that often makes dystopian and nefarious plans for how nations should run, how humans should live, and what their values should be, were totally unprepared for these hard-hitting remarks. In fact, Milei’s speech may go down in history as the most provocative in the history of the WEF. I’m sure he will not be invited back next year.

The Argentina president did not attend the WEF to be a stinging gadfly on the backs of the elites. He was there to proselytize, to make a case for why world leaders should ditch woke leftism and embrace an alternative vision for humanity that includes an “unrestricted respect” for “life, liberty, and property,” a vision which Milei said he is beginning to implement in his country.

While Milei is no saint—and he's certainly not right about everything, especially his understanding of the relationship of the state to the individual and the role of right-ordered government in working for the common good, among other things—it is a breath of fresh air to see a country’s leader speak so powerfully against abortion at such an influential event.

It gives me hope to see leaders rising who understand the demonic programs at work in our world and who are bravely calling them out for the evil that they are. Let us pray for such leaders to arise here in Canada.

Be bold and daring for life!
