Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.
The world was rocked on Tuesday night with the US election of President Donald Trump. We put out a press release about what this means for the pro-life movement here in Canada. You can read that below.
The government of New Brunswick, under newly elected Liberal leader Susan Holt, has reversed a government policy defended by former Premier Blaine Higgs that banned funding abortions committed outside of hospitals.
It was this policy that was partly responsible for the closure of the infamous Clinic 554 earlier this year. This is terrible news for preborn New Brunswick babies. Please pray for the province’s pro-life movement as it fights back against this.
A number of pro-life pregnancy centres are giving media interviews about how Trudeau’s attack will harm their operations if they lose charitable status. These are sobering interviews. Please pray for the protection of these crucial centres.
Please make sure you read the amazing piece by Pastor Steve Bainbridge from The Pastor’s Desk about the need for Christian Canadians to get off their couches, roll up their sleeves, and get involved to save Canada in bondage to the culture of death. This piece hit the nail on the head.
It’s good news that Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is following through on a promised bill to ban mutilating “transgender” surgeries for minors. This will spare children struggling with their God-given masculinity or femininity a lifetime of medical complications and regret. This policy will save lives.
Don’t miss the video of the week in which a UK news anchor shows how to interview a pro-abortion activist while injecting pro-life truth bombs along the way that leave the interviewee reeling.
Finally, don’t miss my update at the end about Linda Gibbons’ trial and a sneak peek of an astounding letter she wrote to pro-life Canadians from jail.

CLC comment: Mr. Trump’s first presidency made unprecedented gains for the global pro-life movement that are still being felt today, such as the overturning of Roe through his appointment of pro-life justices to the Supreme Court and his defunding of international abortion organizations and bureaucracies. Along with Vice-President-elect JD Vance, who is strongly pro-life, we look forward to an administration that will make more gains for preborn humans, gains that will trickle up here in the ‘true north’ to help create a culture of life.
Government of New Brunswick: New Brunswick to allow medicare to pay for surgical abortions outside hospitals
“It has approved changes to Regulation 84-20 that will allow medicare to cover the cost of surgical abortions performed outside of hospitals.”
CLC comment: Is this the kind of "healthcare" that people in the province wanted when they voted for Premier Susan Holt? More money for more dead New Brunswick babies? Likely not. Abortion isn’t healthcare because healthcare doesn’t kill. The people of New Brunswick have a leader who is championing the killing of their children. It’s evil and must be opposed.
The Rebel: Trudeau targets pro-life charities — we're fighting back!
“The radical Trudeau change in legislation is being framed as a measure to ‘protect reproductive freedom,’ but in reality, it’s an attempt to shut down pro-life voices under the guise of regulating charity status.”

CLC Comment: “It's time for every man to save intimate relations for the woman he will be committed to and support to have children with. This kind of relationship used to be called ‘marriage.’ It's time to rediscover marriage. It worked amazingly well in the past. It can work again today.”
Globe and Mail: The Liberals are desperate, so they are raising abortion as an issue again
“There are two good reasons why Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are once again accusing Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives of wanting to take away abortion rights. First, the Liberals are desperate. Second, as a political ploy, it works.”
Western Standard: Pro-life group president says it has to be tough on Smith, Alberta government
“Smith has identified herself as pro-choice. Without a firm pro-life counterbalance, Ruhl said Smith will be inclined to yield to pressures from pro-abortion advocates. If no one pushes back, he predicted Alberta’s path ‘will inevitably follow the course set by the loudest voices in the room.’”
Western Standard: Quebec bypasses criminal code in new MAiD rules allowing euthanasia for unresponsive patients

Pro-life news anchor Jacob Rees-Mogg and abortion activist Rebecca Reid clash over UK abortion mill ‘safe’ zones.
Maureen, Linda Gibbons’ trial for ‘interfering’ with the running of the Toronto Abortion Clinic resumed this week on Nov. 6.
The pro-life grandmother was arrested and charged in June for her peaceful presence outside the abortion mill, which consisted of her walking up and down the sidewalk while holding a sign which reads: “Why Mom, why I have so much love to give.”
The court heard testimony from Rachel Foote, a 19-year-old who works as a counsellor and in administration at the abortion centre, and a police officer. Rachel said that Linda “disgusted” her.
The Crown, represented by Mr. Mathew Bloch, argued that Linda committed criminal “mischief” by trying to dissuade women from entering the business, which, he argued, held up its operation.
During a candid moment, presiding judge Justice Maria Speyer admitted that the “business of the Toronto Abortion Clinic is to perform abortion.”
Mr. Wine, Linda’s Amicus (friend appointed by the court), made a strong case that Linda’s “communication” with the women did not rise to the level of mischief. “It’s barely a nuisance, certainly not a criminal mischief,” he said.
Linda was offered bail on the condition that she commit to remaining away from the abortion mill. Linda, who always remains silent in court in solidarity with the preborn who have no voice, did not acknowledge the offer of bail.
After the conclusion of the trial, Linda put her hand to her heart and smiled as she acknowledged the handful of supporters in the room. She was then handcuffed and returned to prison at the Vanier Centre for Women in Milton, Ontario.
Judge Speyer will offer her judgment on the case on Dec. 5 in Courtroom 1106. We’ll be there to let you know the result.
In an Oct. 1 letter from jail, Linda encouraged Canadian pro-lifers to “persist and carry on” for the sake of preborn children targeted for death by abortion.
“In the midst of Canada’s contemporary amnesia, our recent history informs us what delayed action accomplishes. Canada is haemorrhaging from a self-inflicted wound and is awash in the blood of millions,” she wrote.
“We bring their plaintive cry front and center to the court.”
“We refuse to be shackled to the Government’s death creep policies or be made accomplices to tyranny against tiny humans. We reject this intrusion of law thrust upon us.”
“They say, ‘cease and desist.’”
“We say persist and carry on!”
Above is a portion of Linda's Oct. 1 letter to pro-life Canadians.
CLC will be publishing Linda’s full letter in the coming days. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, be bold and daring for life!
