Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.
There’s so much happening in the news this week.
First of all, this coming Sunday is Life Chain. Please find a list of locations here where you can join other pro-life advocates in praying for an end to abortion. I’ll be joining my local location with my family in Barry’s Bay, Ontario.
On to the news. CPC leader Pierre Poilievre replied to an email to one of our supporters in which he outlined what a future Conservative government would and would not do for the pro-life movement. The letter was picked up by corporate media and became national news, being carried in The National Post and The Epoch Times.

Stats Canada has come out with the projected fertility rate for 2023, and it’s not good. Our country has plunged to 1.26 from 1.33, putting Canada on par with the "lowest-low" group of low-fertility countries, which include South Korea and Japan.
A fertility rate of 2.1 is needed to replace the current population and maintain social structures. Canada is heading for hard times. Of course, anti-family and anti-life mentalities fuelled by abortion and contraception have played a huge role in where we are today.
The Trudeau Liberals have just launched a new “abortion services portal” on Health Canada’s website to make it easier for Canadians to kill their preborn children.
The portal is chock-full of lies told by abortion zealots to hide what’s really going on here, namely, the slaughter of preborn humans. Future generations will look back on this page in the same way we now look back on Nazi gas chambers and be dumbfounded about man’s inhumanity to man. God, save us.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is introducing legislation to restrict sex-change surgeries and puberty blockers for minors. This news is incredibly significant and will go a long way in protecting children from becoming irreparably mutilated by gender-activist doctors.

Maureen, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bragged on “International Safe Abortion Day” (Sept. 28) about all the work he has done to promote the killing of preborn children, both at home and abroad.
First of all, there is no such thing as a “safe” abortion. It is a lie.
The sole purpose of abortion is to kill a human being prior to birth. The procedure has failed if it does not result in a dead baby. Abortion is never safe for the preborn child.
Abortion is not safe for the mother either. Both surgical and chemical abortions harm women on many levels, including physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. In some cases, botched abortions have killed both the child and the mother.
Abortion is not safe for anyone.
Trudeau began his Sept. 28 statement by saying, “Abortion is health care.”
Health care is the organized provision of medical care to people so that they can maintain or improve their health via the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, illness, or injury.
Pregnancy is not a disease, illness, or injury. Ending a pregnancy by killing the baby is in no way health care.
It has nothing to do with health and everything to do with death.
Mr. Trudeau said that he’s recommitting to fight to “protect a woman’s right to choose.”
There exists no court-defined or Charter right to abortion in Canada. In fact, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms states that “Everyone has the right to life”
“Everyone,” tragically, does not apply to the preborn child who is unscientifically defined as only becoming “human” when he or she has “completely proceeded [...] from the body of its mother.”
This legal fiction allows for the slaughter of some 100,000 preborn Canadian children annually. There is no law to protect these children. Justice demands one.
Mr. Trudeau stated that “no government or politician should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.” This certainly was not the case when it came to the matter of abortion-tainted COVID vaccine mandates imposed on the public. Interestingly, Trudeau, a woke gender ideologue, seems to know perfectly well what a “woman” is, but only when it comes to the matter of abortion.
Furthermore, it’s a widely accepted Constitutional principle that autonomy ends when it brings harm to others. Preborn babies are fully human and, as such, are endowed with human rights – the first of which is the right to life. Therefore, killing the preborn is the gravest of harm and can in no way be defended by “autonomy” arguments.
The Trudeaus, both father Pierre and his son Justin, have done more than any other leaders to destroy Canada with their anti-life and anti-family laws and policies. Pierre decriminalized abortion and contraception in 1969. Justin has spent hundreds of millions of tax-payer dollars expanding these two evils nationally and internationally. Justin has also turned Canada into a euthanasia and assisted-suicide haven.

The Trudeaus’ contraception and abortion policies are destroying our country. Justin Trudeau is like Nero, who sits and fiddles while Rome is burning. Canada is being destroyed right before our eyes by Trudeau’s anti-family and anti-life policies. And, unfortunately, the official opposition is not doing any "opposing" on this matter.
How many Canadians out there have the eyes to see what is happening?
One day, Canada will become pro-life. We've got our work cut out for us to make it happen.
