Time Capsule Drawing

For this assignment we were assigned three different tasks. One of them was to draw a self portrait of myself, draw a perspective in your home and also an object in my home. When I was first assigned all three of these I was very nervous because I knew I wasn't the best at art and self portraits are quite of a challenge for me to to as well. I was also iffy about doing the perspective of a room, because I'm not good at making things look realistic.

I started off the Time Capsule Drawing with a self portrait of myself. The materials I used for this was just a pencil. It was very fortunate for me because last year I had taken art class my third trimester of the school year and so I had remembered what my art teacher had taught me. It came in handy because, although, it wasn't as great as last years self portrait, I still remember all of the techniques and dimensions of the face that helped make it look realistic. A challenge I had while creating this was making the eyes similar. I have always found the eyes to be the hardest part when drawing a self portrait.

For the perspective of the room, I chose to do part of my living room and part of the hallway. This was my first time doing something like this so I found it kind of hard to make the lines mach up so it would look real. the materials I used for this was pencil only. A challenge I had while making this was making the door have the affect of making it look like there was another room.

The last and final piece to the time capsule drawing was drawing an object in my home. The object I chose for this was a thermostat. Again, the material used for this was pencil. I found this part to be the easiest for me because it's not hard to make it look realistic because theres not many hard dimensions to it.

Overall, I thought this project was neat because it was three random things to draw and I found it fun to incorporate all into one. If I were to do this again I would focus on taking more time to create my drawings and make them look realistic. However, I am happy with the way they came out since it was my first time of the year doing those.
