For the final project of 2D design, everyone was given a four by five circle design made from watercolor paper. This was a completely free assignment where we could have the chance to create whatever we wanted within the circles. I thought this would be a good idea to show how much I love flowers so I decided to draw twenty flowers that I really liked in each circle.
The materials I used for this were, pencil, pen and watercolor. I started off by planning what flowers were my favorite that I knew I wanted to draw. I also researched some other flowers that I also wanted to add to my piece. I tried to choose flowers with a different variety of color which was easy for the most part because a lot of flowers come in more than one color. I started off by sketching out each flower in the circle and writing the name of them above so I wouldn't forget. After I went I was finished with all the flower sketches I then began to go in on each flower with watercolor. When they were finish I used a pen to write the flowers names darker.
Overall I am happy with the way it turned out and I'm glad I came up with that idea because I really like flowers and I really enjoy drawing and painting them. The only struggle I really had during this process was that I wasn't painting in the best of light so the edges on some of the flowers are rough but not too noticeable. If I were to do this project again I would add a significant background to each flower in their circle.
