Donate Life Project

In this Donate Life project, I really wanted to so something with nature and I knew I wanted to use watercolor, so I thought it would look pretty if I did a sunset. For my slogan, I used "Everyone deserves to see another sunrise, be the sunrise with organ and tissue donation.

The materials I used for this project are pencil, watercolor, acrylic and watercolor paper. To start off, I drew out what I wanted to paint and then once I was done with that, I started with the sand and the waves. For the waves crashing, I had to use acrylic paint because I was originally going to use ink but there was none left. So, I used white acrylic paint as a substitute which actually didn't turn out bad. Afterwards, I moved on to the sunrise and just played with yellow and orange colors, and for the fun of it, I decided to add a little island and a tree. The whole process in making this was really fun and I felt no stress, if anything it was calming to me, which is always good. My ideas are visually evident in this because it shows the reasoning behind my artwork and the message has a clear meaning.

Overall, my artwork turned out better than I expected and I especially like the water, I think it turned out just the way I wanted it to. I like the different blends of blues, it really shows the reflection of lighting in the image. However, I feel like the blending of yellows with the sun, didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. To me, it doesn't blend very well and looks blotchy. So in this case, the only thing I would fix is just my blending from the sunrise. Anyways, other than that I am completely satisfied with my donate life project, and I think it is stronger than mine from last year in 2D design.
