SI #9

For this assignment, I sketched out a close up design of a face. I wanted to use different paints and sort of leave marks and use a vary of colors. However, since I knew I wanted to continue with portraits, I wanted to continue with changing perspectives and colors. I like the idea of the portraits not looking realistic but cartoon like.

The materials I used for this were acrylic paint on mixed media paper. After I had sketched my idea and began painting the background. I used new colors I had that gave off a more glossy look which I wasn't expecting but I did end up liking the sheer glossy look it gave off in some spots. I liked that techniques better and found it easier. I liked the look of some spots not completely blended where you can see where two colors meet but others are blended nicely together.

Overall, I like the way this sustained investigation came out because I tried to play with perspective and be cautious about new lines and what I do with them. Moving forward, I want to experiment with new shapes and cartoon looks.
