Outlook
For my sustained investigation number four, I continued to try to practice more with colors and shading. I stuck with the cooler, blue and purple tones.
The materials I used were acrylic paint on bristol paper. I started off by coloring the background and then tracing my sketch of the face over. I then began painting and I had a more color pop look that it was leaning toward rather than a realistic painting. I decided to stick with the blue and purple tones for the face and the darker hair look. I focused more on shading for this artwork rather than adding every little detail and it came out as a cartoon like figure to me and I want to try to express more with lines of colors showing the movement.
Overall, this piece didn't turn out how I wanted it to. It ended up looking a lot like my previous artwork because of the use of colors. For my next assignment I want to branch out with color more and add more of a personal twist to my artwork along with more perspectives and emotion.
