Sunset Mind
For the sustained investigation I wanted to go back to the acrylic paint because I feel most confident when using that material. I wasn't sure what to create so I decided to start off by cutting the paper small.
I made a fairly big sketch on the small canvas paper. I sort of free handed this and just went along with what I was drawing. I wanted to add something to the portraits so I decided to add glasses for a fun touch. I started off by mixing light pink and purples and yellows as well. I did my normal process of painting wherever I feel and then moved on to the glasses. I made the area inside the glasses purple to add as a tint for the glasses as for the glasses brims I wanted dark purples to act as the under shadow. I liked these colors combos because I feel like I don't use them a lot together and they are colors that I really like and what I felt set the mood for this piece.
I really like how the final product had turned out because the idea of the sunset mind is a calm face resembling focus which is where the background plays a part where the illusion of the lines brings the attention in more. I want my artwork to continue to grow and become deeper especially with each different specific .meaning behind it.
