Time Capsule Drawings

For the first time capsule drawing I was assigned to draw a perspective of a hallway or room. I decided to draw the hallway just outside the art rooms. In the beginning of this process it was sort of a struggle because I had forgotten what the exact technique was that I learned in Foundations of Art. But as I got going, I began to remember the steps.

The materials I used for this project were colored pencils and a regular pencil. I started out by drawing everything in pencil so that way I could erase my mistakes. After that I wen tin with colored pencils that matched the actually colors of the hallway to make the drawing look realistic. One thing I'm not very happy with about the hallway perspective drawing is the pencil that I used left dent marks even though I drew very lightly. Therefore, when I went over it with colored pencil, there were white lines that showed through.

Overall, I do like the way the drawing part came out, I think it looks kind of accurate and all the lines are straight and are drawn to the center. However, I feel like I could've taken more time with the coloring part to fill in all the white spaces.

For my second time capsule drawing, I was assigned to focus on a feature in my face by looking in the mirror and drawing what I see. This way it is the most realistic. For this, I decided to focus on drawing my eye. I started out by looking in the mirror and just trying my best to draw out what I see and to get the best detail of my eyes on the paper.

I started off with using just a regular pencil After I got the basics, I then proceeded to go into more details. I drew my top and bottom eyelashes and then went into the detail on my eye. I drew the reflection and focused on the Iris and shading the colors in my eye. After I had finished coloring my eye, I began to draw my brown eyebrow. After everything was just about finished, I knew that I needed to add shading because that is a big part in making artwork look realistic and human.

Overall, this time capsule drawing was by far my favorite one because I've always wanted to learn how to draw an eye and I think this was a good experience for me to do especially because I am really proud of it.

For my third capsule drawing, I was assigned to draw my hand in a certain position so i decided to draw my hand in a peace sign position. I started out by just holding my hand in the air and drawing from there.

the materials I used for this was just a regular pencil because I thought it would look cool and different just to use pencil. Last year in Foundations of Art, I learned how to draw a hand realistically but overtime I began to forget the exact technique on how to do it correctly. So I found this process pretty hard for me and had trouble drawing all the line details on my hands.

Overall, I am not the most proud of this time capsule drawing because I felt that I was rushing because I didn't know what to do. In the future if I were to do this again, I would make sure to take more time and go in more with the details.

For my last time capsule drawing, I was assigned to draw a still life object. for this, I chose to draw my Hydroflask water bottle. The materials I used for this were colored pencils and a regular pencil. Just like all my other time capsule drawings, I started out with pencil and then went back in with the colored pencil.

I began by just looking at my water bottle and drawing from what I see. I found this process to be easy for me because I don't find it challenging to draw water bottles and there wasn't anything complex on it. I am proud of the way it turned out but I feel like I could have done a better job coloring the water bottle so that way theres not many white spaces.

Overall, I think if i were to do it again, I would make sure to take up more space on the paper for the water bottle and to make it less wide and focus on making it look taller.
