Duck Stamp

Duck Stamp

The Maine duck stamp art competition is a competition I am familiar with because of my participation in the last two years. The first year I participated in the duck stamp I won a second-place award for my duck stamp. The duck stamp is something I enjoy and look forward to each year to further my skills on not only artistically but also learning more about the species itself.

The materials I used for my ducks stamp was colored pencils and white ink on bristol paper. I am fairly familiar with colored pencil and enjoy using them. However, I usually work with acrylic so for me I liked switching to colored pencils and work with something different for awhile.I also like the way the colored pencils looks on the bristol paper adding for the texture. I am currently not completely done with my duck stamp and it is still in progress but the process has been simple and I worked my way by layering the colored pencils.

Overall, I hope to finish this soon and continue my work on my duck stamp so it will meet requirements for the the competition. The only difficulty I find while creating the duck stamp is trying to get the movement of the water perfectly.
