Beautiful Oops

For this assignment, I was given a paper with black ink on it, as shown above and I had to be creative and make something out of it. whether its realistic or not. To start off I was going to draw a raccoon because I saw it ass two eyes and then the smaller dots were just going to be apart of the fur. But then I realized that the ink drops were at an angle and I was having a harder timer drawing the raccoon to around it's face at that angle. So then eventually somehow I came up with the idea of drawing lemons.

The materials I used for this project were colored pencils and just a regular pencil. I started out with my regular pencil to get an idea of what I wanted to draw and how many lemons and what angles etc. Unlike my last drawing, you can see this one has an actual background. I figured it would look neater and more realistic if I added in a background. So to add to lemons I put them on a cutting bored and then drew a table under that and then had a faded gray background.

One thing I am proud of from this project is the shading. I usually don't shade or don't remember to shade some of my drawings. However, I shaded the shadows on the lemons to give the effect that the other lemons are behind the main one (with the black ink dots.) One thing I am not the most proud of is that I feel like I could've gotten more creative with the beautiful oops and could have drawn something different than lemons.
