WhatchamaDRAWit

For this assignment, the task was to create a piece following a prompt. In this case my prompt was to create a clown that's also a football player, and a doctor. WhatchamaDRAWit is a familiar prompt because I have been tasked with it in my previous art classes. However, to start off my project, I started by sketching out the clown like face. I then continued to draw a muscular body to add to the football player Lastly, I added a stethoscope and coat for the doctors looks.

The materials I used for this were colored pencils on regular sketchbook paper. I really did not want to use these materials, however, at the time they were the only ones I had. I started by layering the colored pencils which is something I find very difficult and is another reason why I do not love drawing with colored pencils. It was hard for me to make the body proportional to the head which I think threw the whole thing off. I have no background which leaves a lot of negative space that I do not like.

Overall, I wasn't impressed with the way this turned out. I had no idea where I was going with it, and that's where I get stuck the most. I didn't want to do a background because I didn't want it to take away from the actual idea but if I were to do a background, I was unsure of what I would create Another thing I really do not like about this piece is the color pencils lines. There was still a lot of white showing through the paper, and no matter how many times I would layer I had a hard time filling it in all the way and blending two colors.
