SI #7

For my sustained investigation number seven, I had continued to work on an art piece that I had made in my free time. I liked the idea of it in my head, the goal was to make the person look somewhat angry but to me it seemed to turn out differently.

To start off, I used the materials I usually use. that being, acrylic paint on mixed media paper. Although, these materials are materials I am very familiar with, I like using them a lot for that reason. When I first started my sketch a while ago, I drew it out on paper first with my pencil. I found it difficult to sketch because it was hard to line up the facial features at the angle the face was at. However, once I had down what I wanted, I began painting the background a darker purple color to add to the tone of the painting. I then later went it and painted to skin tone and did shading, Lastly, I added the features of the face.

Overall, I found this work to be pretty difficult because I had been working on it for awhile but it doesn't seem to show . I tried really hard to get it look more detailed and realistic but it still had a cartoon feel to it. I don't mind the cartoon look, but I just don't think this showed my strongest ability with the work. For future pieces, i want to work on my creativity and ideas with working more in depth.
